whilst listening to CNN

Griffin said to me:

mommy I am going to turn off the television (note he does not like the TV on really at all)

I say:

no honey mommy wants to listen to this important information….

His response:

Mommy you know that it is not real, you know the things on television are not for real they are just from someones imagination….

So maybe I am a bad blogger…..

I promise to come back…I am just a little bit behind the eight ball right now…….

but I do love ya Sybille

about to start week four…

I can hardly believe that next week will be then end of my trial at The Grocery Game

I have learned a lot about shopping and shopping trends

I have learned to use…I mean really use… coupons.

I have become giddy to go to do the grocery shopping just to see how much I save.

I have bragged to way to many about my savings

I have cut my grocery bill nearly in half

I have a really decent stockpile going

I can do extra things with the family again things we did before the economy went south

I have spent $797.66 and saving….wait for it….wait….

$379.93 which is a 48% savings.

Things that I have more then enough of

cleaning supplies

canned goods (in general)

peanut butter

Cereal ( cheerios, mini wheat’s)

hand soap

dishwashing soap

snack of many kinds…(for lunch packing mostly)

things I can’t wait for my deals…

ziplock baggies

laundry detergent

there is more but you get the idea.  I have so much more to learn…I am looking forward to saving even more and having a simple grocery list each week..maybe get it down to $50 or $60 bucks…it can be done…I will prove it…give me time.

So for now…go ME!!

Tubes part two

so today Griffin got his second set of ear tubes.  What a champ…

the morning went a little like this…

Griffin who do you want to take you to the hospital…

OK mom will do bus duty with Spence

So they left at what we thought was 5:45 AM turned out that the clock was messed with and the time was off an hour early…UGH they were there an hour early.

I got Spence on the bus at the usual and head home 30 minutes later Griffin and dad were home…Griffin was great, HUNGRY, but great did not cry when he woke up after the proceedure…just looked at the nurse and said hey, where’s my dad…she giggled took him to Richard and 30 minutes later they were headed home. After his two bowls of cereal he wanted to go to school…so we went to the meet and greet today for the last 45 minutes.  He was his same ole self…like he did not have surgery that morning.

HE.LOVED.SCHOOL. he can not wait to go Friday.

So we are on to a new school year and new tubes and all is right….for now.

Then there was FAY…

…we called the airlines to see if our flight was indeed canceled, as we had thought it would be in preparation for hurricane FAY,  it was rescheduled for the following morning, Wednesday….at O ungodly early am….Wednesday…that gave us another day to sneak in some more fun.  We headed off to Ginnie Springs so that the boys could do a little snorkeling.  Of course the big boy complained the most about how cold the water was but the younger two did just fine.  Spencer loves the water and really wants to scuba dive.  He wanted so badly to go into the caves that are underneath the springs.  We saw people going in and out of them all day.  It is a cool place…I might even indulge next time. Make sure you click on the second one and read under the dangerous cave wording..

once we finished off there, which BTW it is a great place with lots of springs, privately owned, right on the river, with all the things you could possibly need to snorkel or scuba for the day.  You can even camp there…and OH YEAH… beautiful…we headed back to grans…she wanted to take us to a little place she and my dad found years ago…in Ozello…it was a cute place very Florida…but nice…we were one of three tables there…it is smack on the shore of the Gulf and with a Hurricane coming most had left..but we had a geat meal and a great time.  We also all ate alligator…

we all liked it…Spencer liked it the most he is the reason we ordered it…it was a little tough but not too bad.  Griffin was not too sure about it but he did eat one piece.  So did my mom and Richard after both saying that they would not. It was bright white in color and had a little rubbery texture but nothing like a clam or oyster. I won’t say chicken but yeah, a little like chicken…ours was deep fried and was served with cocktail sauce. It really was not bad at all…and for those of you who remember, I did not eat much aside from PB and J, bananas, salad and pelmini in Russia. So this was a good start for me.

Anyway, we headed home on Wednesday at O’ungodly hour and all was fine.  Both flights (layover of about 12 minutes in Atlanta)  were booked solid.  Even the jump seat with Delta pilots in them.  It was interesting.
